"Invalid Authenticity Token" Zendesk error
The "invalid authenticity token" error happens due to your browser blocking third-party cookies. You can fix it by allowing third-party cookies, either for all sites or as an exception. Note that the instructions below assume you aren't using any privacy protection plugins, ad blockers, or script blockers. If you are, you may have to disable them as well.Chrome
These instructions add an exception for help.lsit.ucsb.edu.- Open Preferences (Chrome, Preferences on macOS).
- Click "Privacy and Security".
- Click "Cookies and other site data"
- Find the heading "Sites that can always use cookies" (you may have to scroll down a little) and click "Add"
- Enter "help.lsit.ucsb.edu", then check the checkbox marked "Including third party cookies on this site."
- Click "Add".
- Reload the help.lsit.ucsb.edu site, if it's currently open.
Firefox
These instructions are untested and may not be adequate.- When you attempt to sign in, above the sign-in form there will be a block that says "Cookies required to use Firefox." At the bottom of this block will be a blue "Continue" link. Click that link.
- When prompted about allowing cookies, click "Allow".
Safari
Safari doesn't offer an easy-to-access exception system, so these instructions allow all third-party cookies.- Open Safari, Preferences.
- Click "Privacy" in the toolbar at the top of the dialog.
- Uncheck "Prevent cross-site tracking" and "Block all cookies."
- Reload the help.lsit.ucsb.edu site, if it's currently open.
